I loved this place. I'm so sad it's now closed. I had been coming to this restaurant since the early 90's. I hope they re-open. Best Mexican food EVER!

Don Ernestos how I miss you! There was talk of a new location opening but ive yet to hear anything since they closed. Someday I hope!

Don Ernesto's, a warm and friendly place where I've eaten great Mexican fare since high school, closed in late 2010 with a promise to open somewhere else by February 2011. They sold the property in San Marcos and were looking for a new site. As of Feb. 7, 2011, I have heard nothing about the new location.

We have hopes.
