D.B.A. Barbecue Restaurant Review

Don't let yourself be distracted by D.B.A.’s snacks or you won't have room for the barbecue. Make the smoked chicken wings, pimento cheese, deviled eggs and fried pickles their own reasons for a visit. From the barbecue choose either the well-seasoned pulled pork, the St. Louis cut ribs (we prefer them dry-rubbed) or baby-backs. Other smoked meats include chicken, turkey and beef brisket....

Pitmaster Tara Mayfield, formerly at now-closed KC Pit, enables D.B.A. to take its rightful place in the Atlanta barbecue pantheon. If you're going to be distracted by the snacks you won't have room for the barbecue, so make those smoked…

Opening early made this place a seemingly good place to start on my short Atlanta trip. With their own Untappd badge, I figured it would be worth a try, as the Porter is only a short hike away. DBA seems to get good Google reviews, and honestly I don't know why. It's located in a small plot of shops in a neat little neighborhood. Kind of crummy on the inside, small, with a cafeteria-style...

Underwhelmed

I cannot understand why this place gets such good reviews. Very poor excuse for barbecue. Overpriced. The mac and cheese tasted reheated. The pork was tough. Won't be back.

In Atlanta for a long weekend with friends and decided to go out for dinner. We went to D.B.A as it was recommended.
We were seated right away and looked at what they had to offer. I ordered pulled pork sandwich with side of fries and a muffin. We had asked for it to come before dinner but came with...

Consistently Good Barbeque

My family and I eat here often. The ribs with the St. Louis rub is delicious. They are always tasty and tender. The atmosphere is generally pleasant but it can get crowed sometimes as do all good resturants. When in the Virginia Highlands parking is always going to be tight. Good food, Good place, Gotta try it!

Maybe a bad day

I went to DBA for an early dinner. Confronted with a menu that was OK but to pay $18 for a small portion of "pulled" sliced pork and two pieces of brisket and small portion of "baked beans" was a little much. Meat had very little smoke taste and brisket fatty.
Not a drinker but maybe if I was and...

Tips about this business (4)

On the Menu:

Don’t miss the white cheddar muffins with a whisper of jalapeño, served with sweet honey butter.

Parking

A rare opportunity to park in a lot on N. Highland road.

What to Drink:

The firefly and lemonade tastes like Arnold Palmer had a rough day on the links and had to add a shot of vodka

Know Before You Go:

The bacon-infused Manhattan cocktail sounds interesting. Unfortunately it's simply a Manhattan with bacon-grease added.
