Since 1975, Silvano Marchetto has acted as chef and owner of New York's Da Silvano restaurant, one of the first Italian restaurants to serve authentic Tuscan cuisine in America. Located in the heart of Greenwich Village, the iconic neighborhood eatery has long been a favorite haunt of celebrities, and is perfectly situated on 6th Avenue with a large sidewalk cafe perfect for people-watching. To this day, Silvano is still at the helm of the operation, with a core menu supplemented by a list of ever-changing specials featuring seasonal menu items.

The "glitterati" draw the "paparazzi" to this ever-"trendy" Villager where "celeb-spotting" is the "main course", though the Tuscan eats are almost as "delicious"; it costs "wads of cash" and the staff can be "snooty" to outsiders, so for best results, bring "George Clooney" – and get him to pick up the check.

Pancho was our Server and he is fantastic. Definitely the reason to go and go back. He makes sure everything is perfecto for the guest, especially the preparation and quality of the food. Top 1,2, or 3 Italian spot in the city because of his attention to detail at the table and in the kitchen.
