In Short
This course was at one time open only to military personnel because it was on the property owned by Lowry AFB in Aurora. Since that time, Lowry has closed and Mira Vista has...
This is a great golf course. Really good design on a pretty flat piece of land. No houses on the course and could not have been an easier walk. Great little clubhouse as well. All about golf here and not about all the other nonsense a lot of new courses have. My new favorite course in Denver.
I grew up in Denver and played a ton of golf at Mira Vista ... because it was cheap, not because it was any good. So ever since they built the new course here, getting a round in here has been a priority.
This is the slowest course to play in the Denver area. Every time I play this course their is a pace of play issue. Green conditions are not good. I would pass on this one. When I ask the staff and management they stated that there is nothing thay can do.
Its a challenge to play. the pro shop is good. staff is friendly. Restaurant staff is amazing. the par 3 is challenging. the practice facilitys are great.
Although this course is not technically within the city limits of Denver, it's close enough and is the best track within the city limits. The greens are always in great shape and the pace of play is never an issue. A must play if you are in the Denver area.
Mira Vista Golf Course resides amidst the former Lowry AFB. Early development in the 1800’s included the Jarvis Hall Military Academy built by John Spalding. The Denver branch of the Air Corps Tech School becomes Lowry Field. Lowry functioned, first as an Army post, then an Air Force base, later as a technical training and military readiness facility until 1994. The United States Air Force...
