Classic Southern Cuisine in Buckhead for 80 years

An Atlanta institution since 1927, the Colonnade Restaurant sets the table with some of the best Southern food in the city. The gingham-curtained dining room hasn't changed since the 1950s, with vinyl booths, big family tables and waitresses who call you "sugar." Traditional entrees such as fried chicken, pork roast and meatloaf are complimented by classic Dixie/soul-food sides; fried okra,...

The Colonnade Restaurant Review

The Colonnade was founded in 1927 and since then has secured its spot as an Atlanta classic, attracting a raft of regulars and requiring one to arrive early or expect to wait for a table. Warmed by a fireplace and a faux library motif, the bar accommodates patiently waiting patrons who gather for strong drinks and conversation. The Colonnade produces some of the region's best fried chicken...

"Generous portions" of "down-home" Southern cooking, "killer" cocktails and a "time-warp factor" are the main attractions at this meat-and-three "institution" in Morningside-Lenox Park that's popular among "gays", "grays" and "everyone in between"; "friendly" service helps make up for occasional "lengthy" waits.

Old-school Midtown restaurant specializes in Southern food.

I imagine this is what the old restaurants looked like when folks would eat out after their Sunday drive.
The portions are huge at moderate prices. Service is usually good with the main problem if any being so busy. Usually a wait to be seated but there are seating banquets and a bar area.
Food has been average to good,...

Took the family to the Colonnade on 12/10. I would say the food was better than average for a meat & three. The portions are pretty big and there are no kids menus, so if you are taking kids I would recommend splitting meals.
I was pretty surprised at the crowd, we arrived around 6:30 on a Saturday night and...

I have been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years and it has always been one of my favorites in Atlanta. The drinks are strong, the food is awesome and consistent, and the service is always spot on. It's the kind of place that you can take your big-city friends or your parents and they can actually have some...

Best fried chicken I've had ! Not overly impressed with "side" dishes or their corn bread muffins. Go here for some very crispy & finger licking good fried chicken !
