Was "hired" at the end of March 2006. Was told I would have approx 1 to 2 weeks of paid training before put on floor. Was required to memorize entire menu, ingredients used in every appt, entree, dessrt, floor and seating chart, table numbers and wine list and prices and would be "tested" on such. Created flash cards etc. Training mostly consisted of sweeping, mopping floor, scraping food off...

Just went for the first time last night (May 11) with my girlfriend and we were both very impressed. The atmosphere was warm and inviting without stifling the night. The room we sat in reminded me of a living room cottage with the fireplace and moose head. Never have I experienced better service or a friendlier staff. To top it all off the food was without a doubt delicious. From the B.B. Shrimp to the warm, gooey Brownie dessert. The menu has a collection of new and innovative foods and the usual steak and pasta. Have been to this restaurant several times..It NEVER disappoints! steaks are tender, pasta is wonderful.(that's coming from an Italian family), service is outstanding!!! Have to trie the Brie & apricot in puff pastry as an appetizer..It's addicting! The owner, not a manger, or some supervisor, but the owner, will make it a point to come over and check on you.. When do you see that...ever.. ...

I eat at City Club so often that it is easy to take it for granted. However, on a recent visit when it was cold outside, upon entering I noticed the fire in the fireplace and immediately felt warmer. My light lunch of an appetizer and some soup was just enough. Like always, the taste was superb and the service was excellent. City Club is a great value.

Upon arrival at cityclub last saturday night I was blown away! I couldnt believe how busy they were. I was told by the host that there was a 45 minute to 1 hour wait for a table. She then said I could wait in the bar. I was a little hesitant because it was so busy. They had some sort of welcome back party for a young man from the armed forces. Fresh out of college, Matthew Weil came up with a concept for a restaurant. The nameless place felt something like the modern version of Xanadu. Charles Foster Kane's mansion in the movie "Citizen Kane." It wouldn't be quite that big, of course, but it would be quite a bit more happening.
