Son of a Living room Volunteer

As a child who was homeless, the living room cared for our well being. they gave me and my family a hot breafast and lunch, and made us feel at home. We loved it. and even though we have a beautiful home My family still volunteers to cook and instruct arts and crafts for the rest of the residentially challenged (good way to put it) people. It is a place of filled with good spirits and hospitality.

Today, 2 teachers and several students from Sonoma State University brought the ocean to the Living Room, a wonderful haven/school/counseling center for homeless and at-risk women and children in Santa Rosa. We built a tidepool and had microscopes set up so that kids (and adults) could examine intertidal animals, fish and algae, handle them and learn about life in the rocky intertidal zone. The...
