Cinema Bar
Take a break from all the hustle bustle and enjoy a drink or two at the classic Cinema Bar. Since many years, this pub-cum-lounge has been delighting the city locals with some great country music and awesome drinks. The classic wooden interiors give it a very beautiful and timeless appeal. Watch out for the 'Tip Of The Jar'a live music extravaganza held every Wednesday night, which features...
Dating way back to 1947, this “quaint”, “off-the-chain” “hole-in-the-wall” in Culver City is best known for its live music; the rest of the setup is standard dive fixin’s: old movie posters on the wood-paneled walls, country music on the jukebox and modestly priced drinks at the bar – it all “feels comforting.”
Oldest School local, featuring live music, sparse honky-tonk décor, affable staff and hoards of Bohemian devotees. The bands can be a little all over the place with Latin rhythms, blues, and hard rock. Tupelo-style bands pack 'em on Tip Jar Wednesdays. If worse comes to worse, grab a stool and chat up a lonely local who's had one too many. Speaking of too many, where did all these people come...
In Short
The oldest drinking establishment in Culver City may look like your grandfather's bar, with dark wood walls, sullied stools, the world's oldest piano and a decorating scheme...
I have been here many times over the years and have always had a great bartender with fast and friendly service. They don't have beer on tap and I had never realized that before this last visit. I guess I had previously always ordered Whiskey. They did have a decent selection of bottled beer, including Sierra Nevada and Stone IPA....
I remembered my father taking me here for my 21st birthday for a beer. The place still looks great and the waitresses are quick to answer and serve.
I absolutely love the Cinema. The owner Rod is a good guy and Michelle is my favorite bartender. Always great music too! But beware of the Old Crow.
***Decent tiny dive bar with live music***It's not a very big place, but they had a very nice blues trio playing. When you first walk in, you see the bar on the left, a small dance floor on the right…
The Cinema Bar is one of the smallest live music venues I've ever been to. The entire bar is probably no bigger than my living room, but somehow they manage to pack in a bar, customers, and a stage…

A great neighborhood bar with a large musical fan base. FREE live music every night of the week for 20 years running!
Parking: There's plenty of metered spots on Sepulveda, which are free after 6pm.
When to Go: Mixed Company on Friday nights features Latin blues-rock. Call ahead for nightly line-ups. Performances begin between 8pm and 9pm.
Know Before You Go: Although there is a patio out back, some customers take their chances inside. Bear in mind this is a tiny space, and the air can get thick.
