Help us make it rightMake sure you read between the lines on anything you sign. Chipmenders' prices are exorbitant. Anyone who doesn't know much about computers should do some price checking before getting taken by the dishonest owner and her incompetent tech/daughter. Also, be aware that this place will repair your computer with used parts rather than new. You will be paying eight times more for these used parts than new parts would cost. The store warranty that comes with these used parts? That's a joke. It will never be honored. Although they have advertisements stating that they accept Visa, Master Card, Discover, and debit cards, this is also deceptive. You will have to sign a statement agreeing to pay 2% more than you owe for the privilege of using your credit or debit card. In addition, Chipmenders does not accept checks. This means you have to pay cash. And make no mistake, once they have your money in hand, that's it. Chipmenders doesn't care if your computer works or not. I have never dealt with such dishonest people.

I was charged $550 (more than worth of my computer) to remove a virus and upgrade ram (which the owner said I needed to get my computer up to speed). For the 1GB ram upgrade I was charged $150 (parts) only to find out the following week (I had to go elsewhere to get my computer running after Chipmenders worked on it) that the ram wasn't even new. I came from a used HP machine and the manufacturer's warranty had run out years ago. A new part was readily available and would have cost under $20. What was Chipmenders' response when I asked about the used part? If I wanted a new part, I should...
