Established in 2013, Chai Pani brings to Decatur the delicious flavors from the streets of India. Editorial reviews from the web (5)

There are over 1 billion food-loving people living in India, and judging by the typical restaurant serving their cuisine in America, they all eat chicken tikka masala. Chani Pani aims for a little more diversity. Decatur’s newest hot spot has been slammed since day one, serving Indian street food with a little American fusion tossed in. Vegetarians can have a field day with the menu, with options like bhel puri, a delicious mix of puffed rice, flour crisps, chickpea noodles and flavorful chutneys. Meat lovers will find comfort in the Sloppy Jai, a turkey hash sandwich with a punch of spice....

Relative newcomer Chai Pani, is serving up some seriously delicious food; the chicken pakoras (curry, chickpea battered chicken) was really good and at under $10 was a pretty good deal. I would recommend going with a few people and trying several of the small plates.

Absolutely positively the best casual Indian restaurant in the city. Must try the sloppy jai!!

My new favorite place.this is like classic Indian favorites with an American/hipster twist. Order a Lime Ricky to wash all the goodness down.

Chai Pani makes Indian food approachable and tasty. Try the Sloppy Jai and garlic naan bread!

Hands down, this was the best meal I had in Decatur during my recent three-day visit. The self-described Indian street food menu at Chai Pani is one page, packed with plates that will challenge your decision-making abilities.
There was a longish wait for a table on a Tuesday, around 8pm. But, that's not unusual for dinner in metro-Atlanta. We shared:...

Listen people! A quaint space that delivers spice, flavor, and authenticity on a galactic scale. The sweet potato chaat is my all time favorite item along with the Chai Latte! And the lamb sloppy joe is to die for! The restaurant is clean, the location is banging, and the service is too. If you haven't tried this family friendly jewel...

All kinds of interesting dishes - tends towards street food with a few touches of Southern U.S. influence. Always friendly, usually loud. Double-check what's spicy!
