I visited this facility on Sept 27, 2010 for a regular eye examine and got a bill for $100.00
I called my insurance – Aetna. Two representatives from Aetna have confirmed me that the billing from Castro Valley Eye Centers IS incorrect.. The max at the worse, I should pay no more than $60.00.
One of the representative suggested that I should show my last bill from Nov 21 2009 & send it the Castro Valley billing for reference. I did, but this Peg from the Castro Valley facility accused my Nov 2009 billing as “fraudulent”.
In my last 20 years I have 18 visits. All visits are billed identically. How come all the other 18 were fraudulent while this Peg is being the only one that bills correctly.
The truth is:
1) If Peg bills the insurance the regular way, she can only get up to that certain amount. No one in the world can milk the insurance company.
2) Billing it Peg’s way, apart from getting the same amount from the insurance, she can also milk me for more. The bottom line –EXTRA income.
The fact is very clear. Greed & Fraudulent for more money
Another Aetna rep suggested that I should get a “super-bill” before committing. But I do have better suggestions.
1) If you are OK with your current doctor. Stay put. Do not patronize this facility even it is closer than your current doctor.
2) If you must visit this Castro Valley Eye Center, make sure that this Peg no longer works there.
3) Should you must visit this facility, make sure that you get a “super-bill” as suggested by the Aetna representative.
I made my mistake and end up being milked. I don’t want you to be the next victim of a scrupulous billing, especially in this economy.
