Chef William D'Auvray unveils his newest concept, bu•ku: a globally-inspired approach to local dining, that is exotic as it is simple in its introduction of tastes and ingredients. The name bu•ku itself is derived from a French-Asian twist (with a hint of Southern twang) on the internationally acknowledged phrase, Merci beaucoup, meaning Thank you, very much. The concept, however, is...

Open the door to Fins Restaurant in downtown Raleigh and WOW! The expansive bar has plenty of table seating for the early and late bar menu patrons. The open dining room, divided somewhat, has an intimate feeling and is surrounded by inviting booths. The 'robatayaki style' bar is an ideal vantage point for viewing the chefs as they work. Chef William D'Auvray has done it again and does not...

In downtown Raleigh, this sophisticated venue for fish and seafood features globally inspired appetizers and main dishes. An attractive crowd sits at the "robatayaki" bar to watch the skilled chefs at their work. The open dining room has dividers and inviting booths for greater intimacy. We decided to have our valentine's day dinner here. The place was busier than usual. Our waiter forgot to put in our appetizer order and directly brought us the entree! The wait time for our dessert too was longer than usual. Food quality was great! No complains there!

It is a place for those who enjoy elaborate dishes, well seasoned. There are no plain options.
