AWESOME PLACE / MUSIC AND STAFF

The ""NEW"" Brass Rail, is so well, done, I didn't want to leave. From Floor to Ceiling, bartenders to door guy and Wall to Wall, the decorating is perfect/awesome/beautiful. It's warm and comfortable. The sound system is NOT harsh, yet audible. The lighting is soft and perfect. The back bar is classy. The changing colored lights are filtered through the booze bottles. Under the bar rail are additional lights, that are super cool. Can't say enough good things.

Pros

+ Drinks, Bartenders.Atmosphere

Cons

- More dancers!!

Improvement? I disagree

I was hoping this renovation would be fantastic but I am so missing the old place. They hired only st8 bartenders that do not know the clientele, don't talk to their customers, and are cold. I miss the old place that was always busy, always fun, and the staff cared about me. I go in alone (no friends in this town) and I used to always have someone to chat with me and ask me about my night. It will be a straight bar within 6 months.... I'll bet you $10!

Pros

+ nice decorations

Cons

- bartenders, prices

A glorified dive bar draws an eclectic mix of boys looking for boys.

In ShortAlthough the Brass Rail features a raised dance platform and decent lighting, the major attraction is the attentive bar staff and a felicitous crowd of blue-collars, retired businessmen, queens, leather boys, just-out Jeep-drivers and pre-Stonewall postgraduates. Boys kiss and hold hands with impunity while listening to their friends belt out "Mack the Knife" and "Wind Beneath My Wings" on Wednesday karaoke nights. Plus, there's drag shows, strip shows, bingo and cabaret.

Fun Fun Fun

Excellent, cute, and no-nonsense bartenders. Good prices, very strong drinks! Old-school bar, fun on weekends with good DJ.

well. I was a customer of the Brass Rail up until the end. I was so excited when I was invited to the grand re-opening. The place was beautiful and the food was great that night. I was so excited to come back and so dissapointed when I did. It was very obvious to me that the bartenders did not want the old clientel around. I was ignored and what conversation there was. Was so labored it was...

This fiercely fun Downtown Minneapolis gay bar is known for their daily Noon to 9 p.m. Happy Hours (Happy Days is more like it) and their weekly event line up. Tuesday BANGO nights (the gay version of BINGO) and Sunday Beer Busts seem to draw the biggest crowds, though the bar regulars keep the place busy almost every night of the week. It’s not the biggest GLBT club in the cities, and...
