Bondi is San Diego’s first truly authentic Australian restaurant. No, we don’t mean the walls are decorated with boomerangs and kangaroo posters. Instead, the Gaslamp Quarter eatery, brainchild of three Aussie mates, is a sleek, sophisticated and art-filled space that is at once industrial yet organic. Case in point, the woven cabanas: these pod-like structures inspired by Aboriginal fish...

I got suckered into going to this place for a night out on the town and wasn't really into it at first. The place is super big and there wasn't a whole lot of action in the space. To my dismay at around 10 o'clock people started coming in to check out the band and the place got really busy.

The drinks were good and the food was nice but it was the ambiance of the place that did it for me. ...

This place is excellent. Must have the Barramundi plate which is amazing. Every dish is great, and their desserts are to die for.

So I don't usually get involved in the whole ranking of good and bad bars but I felt this place deserved it. For the past three weeks my friends and I have discovered the joy that is live rock and roll music at Bondi. Let me preface this little review by saying that I am not a big fan of the whole downtown scene in general, something about excessive hair gel and guys that smell like girls...

Where has all the Aussie gone in the past six months! There may be a meat pie and a beer but the rest has been lost. All decor but little substance.

My uncle and I recently had some beers and appetizers here on a Friday night. They happened to be screening the Aussie rules football championships live throughout the place, so it was pretty loud and crowded. Their decor is modern and upscale, their music is contemporary and loud, and their staff is young, Australian and attractive. They have at least a half-dozen Australian beers on tap --...

Business description (1)

This place brings a slice of Australia to the people of San Diego. This place has three steel bars and even bamboo cabanas which draw their design from Aboriginal fish traps. They have plasma televisions hanging vertically on the walls. Six different Australian beers can be found here on tap. Furthermore, Barramundi and Tasmanian ocean trout can be sampled here.
