I've stayed at the Bay View Suites on multiple occasions over more than a decade, and I think it has good points and bad points.

i wouldn't stay here! our room was not great. the bathroom was bad. the bed was horrible. the food was not good. i would stay somewhere else!!!

This place claims to be 5 minutes from San Diego. Um, I don't think so. It was $25 cab ride from the airport and there is nothing around. YOu can walk under the 5 overpass to catch the red trolley to San Diego if you want to go somewhere.
THe hotel itself is okay and they did take us to the airport the next morning (in the Holiday Inn van from across the street) but the location is really...
