What the community has to say about Barbecue Kitchen Of College Pk

Information about this business (1)

Barbecue Kitchen keeps guests coming back with their authentic Southern-style home cooking and friendly service. If you're looking for something fussy and upscale, this smokehouse isn't for you. The interior is sparse, almost institutional, but fill it with locals happily chowing down and chatting away and the spirit of the place comes to life. There are about ten entree options such as roasted...

Plates are heaping at this favorite spot, where pulled pork stars.

The Scene
You can tell the Barbecue Kitchen is a good pork palace by the mass of folks slurping down sweet tea and wiping the sweat off their brows. The place looks like a converted...

I ordered a salmon. Got ...have no bloody idea what I got, but it was not salmon at all. Some kind of something that looks as "hamburger" with a lot of flour.

Great southern barbecue

This was recommended by the front desk person at our hotel. A short walk and we were quickly seated, we tried a few different things from the menu and it was exactly as promised! Good southern breakfast!
The red eye gravy on smoked ham was incredible. The biscuits and gravy were great! Eggs were cooked exactly as requested. Some serving...

This place was really close to our airport hotel and yet seemed to cater for the locals. The menu looked really good and clearly homecooking was the thing. The suroundings weren't 'posh' by any means but we were really appreciated the quality of the food here. The portions were large and delicious. Quite a simple place for good food and...

Great Southern Food

This is a great place to eat in the College Park area if you are looking for Southern cooking. I first ate here in 1978 & it just keeps getting better. Breakfast eggs & country ham are my favorite.

I was in the area overnight. My son was hungry so we stopped in the Barbecue Kitchen and glad we did.
Main courses were the beef brisket and grilled salmon patties. Very good.
Sides were collard greens, baked beans, squash casserole, fried okra and stewed rutabaga. Each were excellent!

It's not that the Barbecue Kitchen is hard to get to (it's located just off I-85), but the ill-informed may consider its airport area setting a bit "out there." In point of fact, this A-frame smokehouse is a reward worth traveling for, and the heavy traffic is proof positive that if you serve up good food and neighborly service, people will go out of the way to give you their business. The...
