A unique space even for Portland. They have a very large downtown location where they host performers and you can have a coffee while spending time on the computer.

Friendly staff. Big open room with plenty of working space, outlets for computers, and some couches for lounging. Yummy baked goods and coffee! I like this place.

I know nothing about the coffee or shows at Backspace, but I do know that the vegan chicken salad sandwich is the stuff that dreams are made of. Seriously. I dream about it sometimes.

I work nearby and am always looking for new places to have a cup of coffee and escape from work. The ambience was relaxed and the person behind the counter was very friendly. However, the barista messed up my order and wouldn't fix it. …
