Help us make it rightThis is my third time going to Aminata's and the quality of the braids, in my opinion, has been steadily decreasing. I went in today with the right hair I needed for my braids as well as the video of how I wanted it to look. When I asked for bigger braids the person was not very receptive and continued to do as she pleased. She then proceeded to talk over my hair to another co-worker who was also working on my hair. Whenever I asked a question or make a remark about the braid she would make some rude reply and then continue to talk in another language (about me, I'm certain) with the other...
I went to this salon based on all the good reviews I found online. Unfortunately I was highly disappointed with the results. Although I do think my experience pertains strictly to the woman who did my hair. I came here for senegalese twists, and they were put in too tight, causing extreme discomfort, and in the front of my head she used such small sections that it looks crazy and i have what feels and looks like pounds of hair on my head. Everyone who has seen me said that it is too much hair, and i am now developing bumps on my scalp from the tightness of the twists so i had to take...
Let me start by saying I HATE to braid my hair. It takes too long, too painful and too expensive. As a result, i only braid it when I must and this is usually every 3 years. I braided it last yr and it took me 7 hours for regular box braids and about 7 days of pain. Due to a busy schedule, I decided to venture back into the braiding world. I have always heard of harlem having the best braiders so I took to google and saw the reviews about this place. I decided what the heck, it cant be any worse than my past experiences..... I got there at 10am for box braids, we negotiated the price and as...
I am always pleased with my look after leaving Aminata's salon. The ladies are personable and work quickly. Instructions are taking well and each style i request with various hair colors and textured hair are made into works of hair art by these fine braiders. I would recommend this shop for quality braiding for a great price. Thank you Ladies of Aminata!
