Help us make it rightThis so called doctor does not rate the one star given above. He was so rude! He treated me (a gentle 67 year-old grandmother) like some naughty child sent to the principals office. I had a large callous covering two warts on the bottom of my foot. While he was checking the top of my foot for swelling, he was pushing on the callous which was already hurting quite badly. When I jumped and yelped, he scolded me and never apologized for hurting me.

I saw Dr. Calia for a toe fungus. When I saw the front office and hallway to the patient room all cluttered and piled up, I should have ran away! Big red flags! The patient room was tiny, cluttered and smelled moldy. Dr. Calia, without gloves on, examined my toes and said he thought I had a fungus but had to take a biopsy and send it off to a lab for a correct diagnosis. OK, anyone could tell by looking it was a fungus.
He took a clipper type instrument out of a pen holder box on the counter (no sterilization) and started digging around in there and clipping part of my big toe...
I do not recommend this doctor. He is insulting and uncaring, and very uninformative. I also believe that he did a poor job on my surgery, but I will know more when I follow up with another doctor. I doubt that I will even return for my follow-up appointment with Calia, as I don't trust his judgment.
