I went here because of the one 5 star Yelp! review... NEVER AGAIN WILL I TRUST 1 review! (Which was stupid of me.)
The method in which my machine was fixed deserves to be voiced. I expressed the hook needed replacing, but I wasnt sure, since Im not a sewing repair guru. I tried just purchasing a new hook so I could replace it myself, but I was persuaded other wise. I was told to put $40 down payment and that $40 would be applied to the total bill. I was also told the hook cost $50... so I left my $100 sewing machine there thinking I would be able to pick it up and pay $10 balance.
Three days later I get a call stating it will be an additional $80 to pick up my machine! Im like "what?!?... I would have bought a brand new machine if I even thought that was part of the equation!"
When I went to pick it up, I tried explaining how I felt ripped off... when I asked to see my broken part, they could not provide it. The owner said I should have asked him to save the broken part, because they just throw the broken parts away. Ok, but that is a shady way to run a biz! Even my auto mechanic volunteers to save parts, because he has good customer service (Ambassador Automotive, Anaheim- slightly expensive, but VERY trustworthy!) The owner fumbled though his words stating that the $80 was the price of the [used] hook. I rebutted saying I was told the hook was $50! He was the one who told me that, but he looked at his co-worker searching for blame! Then he started to explain that "the timing" was off, too. According to the receipt, the part cost $80 and there was no report of "timing" being charged! I begged the owner to lower the cost, but he was not budging... in fact, he was annoyed with me and said he could sell my sewing machine and get HIS money back! WOW I wish I could give zero stars. DO NOT TRUST THIS GUY HE IS A SLIMER! Even if my timing was really off, the numbers do not add up. Plus, the owner made me pay $120 to fix a 5 yr old, $100 sewing machine when he should have recommended I buy a new machine. F**K THAT MOTHER F**K*R! awwweeee! Why are people so shady!?!?!?

I don't why my review and 9 others are filtered when the reason for yelping is to try to help others make a good a choice on service and price. Over all this is a good shop.
Great team, well organized and very clever in any way. I love the service that is why I will call you all back in case I need your services again.
Called on Wednesday, they said they were open Saturday, got there on Saturday there was a sign on the door to come back on Tuesday. I went elsewhere.
Charity work doesn't justify overcharging your customers. I have two Master's degrees, I don't charge your rate!
