This restaurant, salumeria and wine bar from the team behind New York's Il Buco is actually located at 16 Mint, on renovated Mint Plaza, a strip of space directly behind San Francisco’s Old Mint. The interior features brick walls, most of which are painted white, gleaming sealed concrete floors and sleek stainless steel chandeliers. Shelves stocked with imports such as olive oil, vinegar and...
Wine selection very good and knowledgeable staff. The ox tails we ordered were under done but the Halibut was perfect. Pretty spot and friendly staff.
I had heard great things from a coworker who knew the owner. We were a bit surprised when we arrived on valentines day and there was a set menu, for what we got it really wasn't worth the price. We were looking forward to the regular menu and being able to choose from a wide variety of options.
We were given a shared table. We should have been warned at the time of reservation that the table would be shared - we would have gone elsewhere.

Great service, delicious/authentic food, understated yet sophisticated setting.

The wine list is all Italian, save for one California label, and there is a modest selection of high-end spirits and classic cocktails.

The bar is lovely for solo diners, but for large parties, there is a cozy, 30-seat lower floor with tables for 8, 10 and 12. For outdoor lunches, there are plenty of sunny seats on the plaza.
