I would like to thank Ms. AW Walker, for taking me and my daughter on a tour of the church Sunday 07/12/2015. We were visiting Detroit from out of town. Ms. Walker was extremely kind and made us feel very welcomed as if we belonged to the church. Next time we're in town we will make every effort to attend a Sunday service. Thanks again!

In March 1836, 13 determined men and women received permission from the Territorial Legislature of Michigan to own and operate their own church. Second Baptist claimed a mission to free slaves and have them enjoy the full privileges as American citizens.
