Here's another property that is doing its best to keep up with the pace in Vegas, to mixed success. Though parts of Harrah's benefited from a reworking of the place a few years ago, the rest of it evokes Old Las Vegas in the way the Riviera does -- as in, dark, dated, and claustrophobic. Still, there is much to like here, and occasional quite good rates might make the so-so bits worth...

THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Range Steakhouse Restaurant Review

This elegant steakhouse has been earning kudos since it debuted at the hotel in 1997. The view of the Las Vegas Strip through a bank of massive windows enhances the friendly fine-dining experience that begins with a gift of friendship---a plate of bagel chips and salsa for the dipping. Among appealing appetizers turned out in the shiny copper exhibition kitchen are roasted corn crab cakes with...

A reliable casino favorite with plenty on offer.

Though this place isn't as splashy as its newer, more upscale neighbors, the 17.3-acre resort is an icon, offering the festive atmosphere of Carnaval in Rio. Adorned with souvenir stands, the outdoor Carnaval Court fronting the Strip presents wine, spirits, salads and sandwiches, and live entertainment from mid-morning until late at night. Dueling piano-playing twins performing in the Piano Bar...

This place is worth visiting if only for the spectacular view of the Strip (few Strip restaurants take advantage of this view, oddly enough) from 40-foot-high wraparound windows. Muted copper and wood tones make for a formal but not intimidating environment and a fine-looking room. The small menu features the usual steakhouse offerings -- various cuts of beef and some chicken dishes, plus a few...

Pools were very cold, that's about the only complaint

We stayed in a newly renovated room. It was fantastic compared to the rather old worn out room we were assigned on a previous visit. I do find the check in time of 4 p.m. very late for travelers that arrive earlier in the day. Other than that we had a great stay at this hotel.

The room was nice.

We upgraded to a suite and the room was nice, but we had to speak to a manager two different days we were there. They were doing construction and we could hear it in our room at 4:30 am, and 9:00 pm. For as much as we paid, they should be considerate of their customers and do construction on normal business hours!
