Good food, but not much else

Average Rating
80

Lantern Cafe offers good Chinese food at a fair price. Don't come for the ambience -- it's rather lackluster. While the service overall is fine, they take forever to bring you your check. Still, I do enjoy their food, so I keep coming back.

Pros

+ Food, Value, Parking

Cons

- , Service

Not bad, not brilliant

Average Rating

The actual dishes are rather tasty, first of all. If that's all that concerns you, then Lantern is all right to go on with. There are other aspects that detract, though: the service and upkeep rings of a place that's been there a while, doing business as usual, and doesn't care much to improve itself. The iced tea is pretty much water with a brown crayon in it... but again, the actual food was hot and well-seasoned. Might be a good place for a leisurely lunch, since dinner was a touch more expensive than it deserved.

Pros

+ Well-seasoned food

Cons

- Nonchalant service, Battered decor,...
