I loved this place. My room had a European feel -- a "small double" is just as it sounds. But it was quiet, modern, comfortable, and very clean. I would definitely choose this place again. Nice people at the front desk, too

Cons: somewhat decrepit look; temperature control and shower didn't work properly; no safe deposit box in room
Overall: good choice in downtown Chicago if you are willing to put up with below-average amenities

Hotel staff were very warm and welcoming upon arrival and each time we passed through reception. Our room was a standard Queen room which was by no means very big but was exactly what we expected. If they had a 3.5 star rating, I would have rated it 3.5. Very small rooms, even by Chicago standards. Tiny bath rooms. A little bit of a maze for a layout. Very nice front desk staff. CQ doesn't really fare very well when you compare it to other 4 star hotels but it is quite a bit better than...
