We have been cheated of our thousand dollar deposit which they had for half a day. We changed our minds after we found that the vehicle was a commercial vehicle with no maintainence records on Carfax, but they refuse to give our deposit back.
The advertisement for the car said "fully maintained" but actually it was Certified Car center that has done the 'maintainence' and they don't have access to any maintainence records. Or they did not show them to us. Being a commercial vehicle, we wanted to be doubly sure of the maintainance records but all we had was the option to believe their word. Which we didn't and we find out now that they are not worth believeing anyway. We tried requesting them several times, even asked them to deduct a reasonable amount from $1000, but to no avail. We feel completely cheated and robbed. The manager Amin was rude, abusive on the phone and absolutely refused to listen. If anyone know of a recourse to this please let us know. We already filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau. This is a red flag for anyone aspiring to do business with Certified Car Center. Beware. If you are looking for a smooth car buying process, this is not where you should go.
After a full week of talking to Amin about a BMW 750il that their ad described as "EXTREMELY REAR, REAR ENOUGH TO BE A COLLECTORS ITEM!! IN AN ABSOLUTE MINT CONDITION INSIDE AND OUT WITH ALL OPTIONS ON BOARD" Amin confirmed with me several times over the phone that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the car. I ran an Autocheck as well as a Carfax and even went to my local BMW dealership to get a full options list. I searched the web for reviews and found this site which only helped me feel more comfortable with the purchase. I decided it was time to catch a flight to pick up the "MINT" condition vehicle. I flew 1100 miles from Kansas to D.C., caught the metro to walking distance of Certified Car Center of Arlington. I arrived at the dealership just before 1pm Sat. Aug. 14th to find the BMW in FAR worse condition than had been described. There is hail damage, front brake rotors are past the point of needing replaced, heated seats did not work, active comfort massage didn't work, rear blind didn't work, rear seat missing button for electric seat control, bad uneven wear on passenger front tire (also dry-rotted), wood handles above doors extensively cracked, interior condition looks more fitting of a vehicle displaying 3x the miles of this one, bottom of trunk (look under car) caved in very badly, and worse of all the "Protection" side glass ALL needs replaced due to severe de-lamination ($1600 per window= $6400). This vehicle is honestly about $8000 short of being considered even "clean retail". I was not offered an apology by Amin, he merely said "what do you expect of a 10 year old car?". Well Amin, how about a car that is "EXTREMELY REAR, REAR ENOUGH TO BE A COLLECTORS ITEM!! IN AN ABSOLUTE MINT CONDITION INSIDE AND OUT WITH ALL OPTIONS ON BOARD"? I left the dealership in absolute disgust and had to rush to find a hotel and flight home the next day.
In the end I wasted $1500 because Certified Car Center of Arlington and its' employees couldn't be even a little honest.
DO NOT TRUST CERTIFIED CAR CENTER OF ARLINGTON!!!
The guys at Certified Car Center in Fairfax were great to work with. Amin when above and beyond as a salesman he even covered a few items that were needed for Maryland State inspection. I am looking forward to working with them again on my next car purchase.
