Not Very Enjoyable

Average Rating

The reviews were good, so we decided to eat here prior to a concert because it is conveniently located next door. This place is old and dark (which is okay); however, the tables were so close that you can distinctly hear the conversations around you. The menu is very limited, so go elsewhere if you desire a variety. Will not...

We enjoyed a good bowl of soup

My husband and I stopped in for something quick while attending the Big Ear's Festival. We each had the bean soup 'provencal' with vegetables. It was very well spiced. It should have come with cornbread - apparently they were out. We did get a biscuit when we asked about it (I think they should have asked us what we would...

Elevated food in a casual atmosphere

Ate here for the brunch with my mom. Service was friendly and attentive. Food was creative and tasty. Space is small, so not ideal for large parties. You may want to arrive early for the brunch. Probably not the best place for kids unless your kids are patient and like fancier flavors. Great place for relaxing conversation with adults.

A House Divided

We visited this restaurant for Easter Brunch. I was looking for a special venue to celebrate the holiday with my family, and as recipient of "Best Brunch" and "Best Bloody Mary", this seemed the place. It's website also touted that they sourced locally, farm to table, with vegan options. It is in a historic building in the historic district of...

This place was recommended by a local and we enjoyed our meal. Easy listening music but unfortunately the loudness of the patrons made it difficult to enjoy. Recommend the fried chicken with the waffle and the Caesar salad was good. One table in the restaurant with 8 people was so loud we could hardly hear each other, and we were seated...

I have worked at the Bistro since 1993 and bought out the absentee owners in 2009. I worked my way through college in the restaurant business and my love for creating food and hospitality for the community kept me in the business. My husband and I have a large home garden which produces organic vegetables year round.

Bistro At the Bijou can be found at S Gay St 807. The following is offered: Restaurants: Southern. The entry is present with us since Sep 9, 2010 and was last updated on Nov 14, 2013. In Knoxville there are 14 other Restaurants: Southern. An overview can be found here.
