Takelesson com is anything but credible to anyone who knows anything about music instruction. They just target the lazy or uninformed.
These online referral "services" are NOT schools, NOT teachers and NOT qualified to judge the quality of local teachers. Their "trained lesson coordinators" are just salesmen PERIOD. ALL they can provide you is what every con provides; the ILLUSION of credibility, the ILLUSION of their desire to help you and "protect" you, the ILLUSION that you need them.
When it comes to credibility and quality music lessons, they are the equivalent of a used car salesman picking up cars at auction, detailing them and then selling them as "certified" NEW cars and selling them for MORE than new prices and before you get your money back, you have to try ALL of their cars in your area.
It's actually worse than this scenario. Picture the used car salesman being in another state "guaranteeing" their "certified new" cars. Good luck getting your money back even if the car is a lemon and your odds are a lot worse with music lessons. Once you are written off as dissatisfied they just focus on another victim and most people don't want to admit to being fooled
They lie so much because as a tactic, they make it hard to believe someone can be this brazen so that anyone who really knows what they are doing will look like they are the ones who are embellishing or exaggerating even if they are doing everything they can to understate how dishonest these companies are. They get away with it because they are not targeting people who know anything about the topic.
Most people would see how over-the-top their wild claims are if you applied these tactics with selling food, travel, electronics, tickets, cars, jobs and you have a much better chance of getting away before you catch on which is why they are so determined to get you to pay them right NOW for as many lessons as possible BEFORE you catch on.
There is NO legitimate excuse for pressuring you into purchasing now and locking you into them as your main source instead of a teacher who is accountable to you each week. They use the "if you don't sign up now, we won't be able to find a spot for you" lie.
They use the word "certified" instructors to create the ILLUSION that teachers are interchangeable whether they have 30 years or 30 seconds of experience so that it is easier to sell you the ILLUSION that their "certified" (cheap, inexperienced) instructors are just as good as a real instructor so that they can make a lot more money. THAT'S THE BOTTOM LINE FOR ALL OF THESE ONLINE REFERRAL SERVICES THAT CHARGE YOU UP FRONT
