Located on the roof of the W Hotel Washington

Yep, that's a thing in DC. And thank goodness. Between all the sights and the relatively mild weather, outside looking around is where you want to be. Here's where to grab a decent drink and a sweet v...view moreiew. view less

great for out of town guests

Average Rating

We had family guests in town to view the Cherry Blossoms, and this turned out to be the perfect spot for lunch. I couldn't believe we got a reservation for 6, but the staff couldn't have been nicer, and put us in one of the best tables in the restaurant. The food is very good and the view is seriously unbeatable anywhere in DC. The service was a bit slow, but it was a Saturday afternoon, so it...

Give POV a pass if it isn't a clear day . . .

This was my second visit to POV, both times with out-of-towners, for weekday lunch this time, previously for brunch. We went to POV for the view. I am a foody; my guests were a 17-year-olds, one vegetarian, one omniverous. The menu is so-so and very expensive ($17 for a small tapas-like plate), which is okay if you have a good viewing day. The menu attempts to be trendy and is very limited,...

Wonderful place to introduce a young person to an "up high" view of the area around the White House.

Check is full of hidden fees

Several friends and I made a reservation for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The waiter was extremely inattentive, it took 35 minutes for our sandwiches to arrive (making us very late for our next activity), and the check was full of hidden "service" fees. For example, my friends ordered a $50 bottle of wine because it worked out to be cheaper than $14/glass. POV added on a $55 service fee for a...

Great view; disappointing brunch

We had read a great review about brunch at POV, but our experience was less than spectacular and not what I have come to expect from W Hotels I have experienced in Austin and New York. While the view is spectacular, the brunch options left much to be desired. The menu was limited and the available selections were not worth the price paid. The setting felt old and run down giving the impression...
