Osetra The Fish House Restaurant Review

Located in the bustling Gaslamp Quarter, Osetra is known for offering fine seafood, pastas and a good wine selection. Osetra also features caviar and a variety of drinks to choose from, including the house favorite Persian Pomegranate Martini. The extensive sushi menu features everything from classic California rolls to sashimi plates. The signature Osetra sushi roll is incredible, but if...

This upscale urban spot serves more than its caviar namesake. Located in the bustling Gaslamp Quarter, Osetra is known for fine seafood and exceptional wine selections.

One of the Gaslamp Quarter's priciest restaurants serves up gourmet seafood to business types and moneyed tourists.

In Short
With its $100 caviar plates and $40 steaks, Osetra's menu reads like an exercise in expense account dining. Located in the heart of the Gaslamp, the restaurant is spread...

Not a good place for a business dinner....too loud and you can't really hear the people at your table.

What an elegant Happy Hour place with $1 oysters too. Doesn't get better than this for Gaslamp dining and NOT having to embrace beer!!! Bring your date and impress.

Waitress needed to be more knowledgeable

The waitress didn't seem knowledgeable about the wine that was selected. She stated it had a buttery flavor when in fact it was bitter. Butterscotch under tones in the wine is were I believe she got her "buttery" flavor reference. Also the waitress asked if we wanted a specific appetizer (not knowing the price) we ordered 5 and to our surprise the appetizer was $35 each. Would have been nice if...

Terrific as always

I always dine at least once at Osetra when I'm in San Diego (which I visit from time to time on business). One can pick anything at random from the menu and be elated. Like the last time I was here about 6 months previously, I had as an appetizer the grilled octopus, without a doubt the best preparation of octopus ever. I followed this with a succulent, perfectly prepared sea bass. The portions...

Where to Sit

Though appealing, the sidewalk tables may attract too much noise and other distractions for those looking to enjoy a big-ticket romantic meal.
