This upscale restaurant offers fine American fare. Photographs of many famous patrons, including military, political and sports figures, who have dined at the Occidental grace the walls. The entry level feels like a club, with a large bar, dark paneling and leather seats. The upstairs dining room is more formal with large booths, a small bar, and the patio overlooking Pennsylvania Avenue offers...

"Washington powers" have been tucking into the "reliably" "terrific" surf 'n' turf for years at this "touch of old-time DC" just steps from the White House, and lined with "portraits of statesmen" peering down from on high; sure, it's "expensive" (as is the small-plates menu in the attached wine room), but "good service will never go out of style", and "establishment" types affirm it's...

Scruggs updated the kitchen in a redo of the facility, leaving the front of the house alone with its quintessential Washington power-dining room décor. Scruggs is an accomplished culinary...

I love the history, what a place. But, at least the night we were there, Saturday, March 14, early virus hysteria, the food was forgettable. Very sad. I've had excellent food there in the past. But on 03/14 my family and I had an entirely mediocre, if expensive, dinner.

My server was really rude. Didn’t bring us bread yet brought to other tables. His colleague told him we had asked for something. Our server, on his way walking towards us, rolled his eyes and sighed. The food was honestly was not good either.. For the value, I could go somewhere else with better service. Great ambiance, just had my mood ruined
