Kenichi Restaurant Review

Kenichi has remained noteworthy for many years despite all the competition in Austin for contemporary Japanese cuisine. Could it be the sleek Asian interior or the stylish crowd that keeps things hip? Certainly, it is all of the above, but mostly it's about the food. With that in mind, arrive early or reserve, because the restaurant fills up fast. As an alternative to the sultry-lit, black...

A celeb-filled, scenester sushi spot in the heart of the Warehouse District.

In Short
Kenichi is nothing if not a scene. Couples on dates and small groups of business folks, and Austin hipsters make up the clientele, and everyone is dressed to the nines. The...

This was one of the first high-end sushi restaurants in Austin...period. The food is good, the ambiance is still nice, but there are better options, in my opinion. I typically come here for a cocktail and an appetizer on my way somewhere else.

Asian Fusion in Central Austin

I went to Kenichi with 3 other girlfriends. We thought it would be a sushi place, but really more Asian fusion food as opposed to traditional sushi. They had a lot of nigiri and sashimi, which was good, but only a few maki rolls. Service was ok - nothing special but also no complaints. We were able to make a...

The atmosphere was really chill and friendly. Gary, our bartender was excellent and very knowledgeable behind the...

Proud Recipient of The Wine Spectator, Outstanding Variety of Steaks & Wild Games, Freshest Fish & Sushi, Contemporary Asian Cuisine & World Class Sushi, Catering & Private Rooms Available

Take Out, Asian: Stylish and often populated with a hip crowd, Austin's Kenichi is sibling to the celebrated Aspen, Colorado, restaurant of the same name. The interior alone makes it worth a visit: expect sleek lines, black tableware, and impressive floral displays. The food is just as aesthetically pleasing, and it also tastes good, characterized by complex, multi-layered flavor combinations....
