This Kimpton boutique has achieved a “sweet blend of new school and old school” with a "stylish" and "modern" update to a historic art deco building in a theater district location that's "great" for those “going to see a performance” (ask the “very friendly” staff about the hotel’s access to seats); rooms may be “a bit small” but are “comfortable”, with “funky” royal-blue and yellow accents and...

Theater lovers will relish an opportunity to stay at this Art Deco–themed hot spot; the eclectic decor—including pop art–inspired chairs and sofas—is a hit, and the lobby's black-and-gray wallpaper looks supersharp. The service is solid, and the rooms are a treat with their muted metallic walls and blue mohair headboards. The bathrooms are well crafted, with gleaming new gray marble and updated...

Hotel Allegro Chicago, a Kimpton Hotel Hotel Review

This is a lively and original hotel, full of bold, bright colors and good-looking furnishings. At the same time it's hung onto the best of its original features, such as its exterior shell and ornate Art Deco staircase in the lobby. This cheerful property is nestled into the theater district and includes its own Broadway-musical-sized performance space, the Palace Theater. City Hall and the...

The Allegro's laid-back vibe makes it a better bet for families and couples than other, more business-focused Loop hotels. The only downside is that you won't have room to spread out: The compact guest rooms don't have much space beyond the bed, an armoire, and an armchair. Still, the bright white-and-blue color scheme is cheery, and the compact bathrooms have built-in marble shelves for ample...

We arrived and our room was not ready until the next day. The lady told us that the hotel was overbooked. The room was very small and they have two small drawer for our things. I don't reccommend this hotel. Our room was not available and they gave one more cheaper.

I went to Chicago to see the Beauty and the beast. Hotel is literally next door what made me decide for it. Walking distance to all downtown Chicago attractions.
Our room was very small but well decorated and clean. They have happy hour at the lobby on Fridays and Saturdays. I dont know if they have it during the week....

I was in Chicago for a couple of weeks, and had my husband fly out for the weekend in between. I didn't want to stay at our work hotel, because, well, work. So we moved to the Hotel Allegro. The location is great, we were able to walk everywhere (and we are hardly spring chickens).
The room was well appointed...

Stayed here for work & loved the feel of the place. Great atmosphere. Sure, it's not all shiny & new, but that's what I liked about it. Quirky sense of humour & style. Only a few blocks from the park & lots of local theatres. My first time here but hopefully not my last
