This down-to-earth breakfast/lunch hangout looks like the kind of place where Stella got her groove back. The decor is shabby chic, where orange walls and purple beaded curtains blend right in with the potted plants, African artwork, and tulle draped from the ceiling. The staff is amazing, they make you feel like family. The wait for food was long but soo worth it. The fried green tomatoes were some of the best I have ever had. They brought us out samples of the peach cobbler & the sweet potato cobbler, I don't even like cobbler but these were delicious. We definitely recommend Alcenia's!

Wow. If this is home cooking... I live in the wrong home! The fried chicken was crispy on the outside and moist and tender on the inside. The pork chop was perfect. The Mac and cheese was ooey and gooey and stringy and sticky and makes me cry that it is all gone. The cornbread and green beans were wonderful (and just a little sweet).
