I'm frequently astonished at how many people LOVE the UW Madison campus. I've seen it on lists of prettiest campuses on the internet and shake my head. I'm biased, but sandwiched between two lakes, with grand green ways, views of the Capitol and serene buildings. The campus is quickly growing and things are "Moving on up like George and Weezie". with buildings that used to be one story, now 4-7... but I love this place.

We had driven hundreds of miles out of the wayi in our motorhome to do genealogy research on campus, checked website hours, encountered difficult parking and accessibility only to find the research library closed when it should have been open. The campus was nice enough, bustling with students during orientation. Was very disappointed the library couldn't bother posting hour change...

Wow, has UW been built up! Nice to see that it's gone up rather than out so that the green spaces and walks between buildings are preserved. It's a beautiful walk or a beautiful drive whatever a person has time and energy for. A great place to end the tour is for an ice cream cone at the university-run shop...
