The oysters were great. We enjoyed a dozen at the Bourbon House and the Royal House and this was far the best.

Favorite Dish: The dozen oysters we had here were superb. The waitress swirled up the oyster sauce out of the ingredients on the table for us and with a little added Crystal, we dug in! There seems to be a lot of other good things on the menu, as well, but we came for the oysters....

A friend was looking for the best red beans and rice in town, and this place was on the list. Basically an oyster bar, this place is old style New Orleans as the interior looks like a 50's throwback with a long straight bar and tables on the other side. Plenty of tile on the floors and walls. Plenty of natural light from the front windows. Several oyster shuckers working one side of the bar....

I've been going to Felix's for years. Its on Iberville across the street from the always crowded and more touristy Acme oyster house. When I visited recently, I tried the char-grilled oysters for the first time as I had always just had them raw in the past. Fantastic is putting it mildly.
The decor is nothing special in here and it actually looks a little outdated. The staff was quite friendly...

I had heard that most people argue over which is better, Felix's or Acme...We tried Acme first. It was packed and the food was good. The next day we tried Felix's. We thought it was strange that it had such a reputation and it was empty, but we were eating lunch a bit early that day (we are from Florida so we were adjusting to the time). Across from the Acme Oyster House. Good food, friendly service

Favorite Dish: This may well be the best place to order a full platter of Oysters Bienville. Cooked oysters on the half-shell and with a special creamy cheese sauce. Great with beer. Down-right addicting!!!!!!!!!!!!!
