In 1936 with the thought of the depression years still lingering and a new baby on the way, Kenneth S. Jones decided to leave his position with the Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. and venture out on his own. He opened Fisk Tire Service. Two years later Ken Jones Inc. was formed. Selling tires was his passion but little did he know that would be the easy part. With the war at hand, tires were rationed and he was forced to sell used tires and retreads. Now it became a question where to buy new tires. It was during these years that important relationships were made. Fisk Tires were made in Chicopee, MA and Armstrong Tires were made in New Haven, CT. A bond was formed that lasted for many years. Ken Jones Inc was the last Fisk Tire distributor in the US and became Armstrong Tires oldest customer. Jerry Jones joined the company in 1958 and his three sons Steve, Brian and Darren became active upon completion of their formal education. For the past forty years, Ken Jones Tires has evolved into a specialty tire and tire chain distributor. The company is a leading supplier to specific tire niches including the Farm, Industrial and Recreation markets. In 2009, Ken Jones Tires launched its full ecommerce website, www.kenjones.com, which includes a complete backend for their vast dealer network as well as an easy to use front end for the retail market. Today, www.kenjones.com is the go to source for hard to find tires and is driving record sales from across the US.
