Though this place sells hats of various styles, from pork pie to bowlers, its specialty is cowboy hats -- custom shaped, painted, and even "dirt" hats. These last are the stiff canvas light-weight hats that are a common sight, but these have been darkened with dirt and charcoal and then sealed. Walking around Austin, you'll see quite a few of them, especially among the night prowlers.
