In doing my research for a complete overhaul of my face (eyes, forehead, face and neck) I interviewed 7 plastic surgeons over three years. I went to the two "best in town" near Rancho Murieta (where I live), two very well known doctors in Beverly Hills, and three highly recommended surgeons in San Francisco. All were professional and courteous and had interesting ideas of what they thought I should do. In every case I considered the doctors very seriously but always decided not to go ahead with the surgery...until I met Dr. Eshima. From the minute I walked into his beautiful office across from Saint Francis Hospital on Nob Hill everything said to me-This is the ONE. Dr. Eshima showed me countless pictures of his work and told me what to look for when interviewing other surgeons and reviewing their work. I felt the "art" in his work spoke for itself, however talking to him reassured me even more. I also found comfort in the fact that he only does faces.
I am 43 years old and have spent my life in the sun living a very active life. My skin had paid the price and my facial structure was sagging. I had many people close to me tell me I didn't need the face lift--that I was beautiful etc. Most of my friends were almost indignant at the thought of surgery--and let me know how distasteful they found it. Those same people are now eating their words.
Dr. Eshima not only took 10-15 years off my face and skin he did it with such an artistic flair that I look age appropriate but so much more beautiful than I ever was. And yet-I look exactly like me!!! The one thing I liked about aging was that I gained structure in my face that I did not have when I was young. So many surgeons talked of fat injections and that really made me nervous. There is so much BAD surgery and injecting going around and I didn't want to look like one of those aged movie stars grasping for their youth. Dr. Eshima removed all my loose skin, lifted my muscles and cheekbones to their appropriate levels, and made me look rested, youthful and happy. I have expression in my eyes and forehead but somehow no crows feet or frown lines.
My friends that know I did the surgery find themselves distracted and staring while we talk and then they will say things like "Sorry-I was just thinking how beautiful you look..." Those that don't know I have had surgery are always commenting on my skin- and ask what products I am using. Men who are not savvy to the whole notion of Plastic Surgery mention that I must have had a good winter because I look fabulous. And most impressive is that women that were so vocal prior to my surgery about how ridiculous they thought plastic surgery was are now saying-"OK- I am going to him."
My father is a physician and did not think I needed the surgery and when he saw me he said it was the best he had seen in 35 years of being a doctor.
I am so happy that I chose Dr. Eshima. He is the most qualified and has the best staff- (Magaly calls EVERY day for 2 weeks to reassure you and give you daily instructions) He has an artists eye that cannot be trained and an attention to detail that is unrivaled. This is your face and you really want to get it right the first time. I thank him EVERY day- if I am having a "fat" day or a "bad hair" day--I NEVER have a bad face day anymore!

After having consulted with an older, well-known plastic surgeon in the San Francisco Bay Area for a lower face lift and upper eyelid surgery for my 53 year old aging face, I decided to visit Dr. Eshima for a second opinion. The best decision I have made in years! While Dr. Eshima showed me numerous before and after photos of previous patients, I could see the knowledge of facial plastic surgery and absolute pride and love of his work which he has. I felt he treated each face as a rare piece of artwork which needs some slight work to make its beauty come out. Although, I was of course somewhat nervous at undertaking this elective surgery, by the time I left his office, I felt 100% confidence in his intelligence and diligence, so I signed up. The result: My husband, whom I met 35 years ago, said I have never had such a good jaw line. My eyes now sparkle (you couldn’t find them before, there was so much fat surrounding them), and my profile is stunning. I easily look 10-15 years younger. Most important is Dr. Eshima’s team of nurses (the smartest and the best one is Mary Kay), who stay with you the night after your surgery in the hospital , and his office assistant, Magaly, who calls EVERYDAY for two weeks post-surgery, to check on your progress.
