Searsucker Restaurant Review

Chef Brian Malarkey established Searsucker in San Diego and has since expanded the concept to Austin. The menu offers New American dishes with a Texas twist, such as smoked duck leg with chickpeas, fennel, figs and crispy kale.

Chef Brian Malarkey brings his upscale mini-chain to downtown Austin (there are locations in San Jose and Scottsdale too); the self-described 'Fabric of Social Dining' concept includes classic American cuisine with a twist, as well as live music and a loungey vibe.

Overall it was ok. With all the options in Austin I think dining is getting watered down. Didn't blow my socks off but wasn't bad.

The food was very flavorful and fresh. The beet and bruschetta was surprisingly good. We had two servers; one was excellent. Lively crowd but not too loud.
