The Best Barbecue around since 1987. Come see why. 857-254-8894

When Redbones Barbecue opened in 1987, a BBQ restaurant of its authenticity was virtually unheard of north of the Mason Dixon Line. Years later, with BBQ joints popping up everywhere, Redbones still stands out because of the fun, the food, and the wide range of services. Customers and staffers alike share the spirit of Redbones, where community rather than commercialism is the order of the day.\n\nThe Fun - In the dining room, there is a constant flow of customers, waitstaff, music and food. Nostalgic photographs of BBQ days gone by, autographed photos of rhythm and blues greats, and...

Editorial reviews from the web (5)

"Abandon all vegetarianism, ye who enter" this "affordable" late-night "house of meat" in Somerville, where the "young, pleasant" staff brings out more "fabulous" BBQ "than even a football team would know what to do with"; it's "not formal", but the "rustic" bi-level setup "suits the menu and clientele perfectly", as evidenced by the "substantial waits"; P.S. if you "can't decide" on something...

Redbones Restaurant Review

Well before Davis Square was a magnet for hipsters, artists and the coffeehouses they favor, it was a mecca for fans of down-home barbecue and beer connoisseurs. Not much has changed since then. Regulars still flock to Redbones for its versatile and authentic menu of slow-cooked specialties like St. Louis-style pork ribs, smoked fork-tender beef brisket, hearty barbecue hash, fall-off-the-bone...

Somerville classic renowned for southern style bbq and beer selection. Clientele seems to love three things: ribs, beer and their bicycles, always stacked out front. Always busy, always boisterous, but plenty of room for families, grizzled bar regulars and college kids. Attitude at bar can be a turnoff, but it doesn’t seem to stop the crowds from coming again and again.

Geographically, this raucous restaurant is in Somerville, but in spirit it's on a Southern back road. Barbecued ribs (Memphis-, Texas-, and Arkansas-style), smoked beef brisket, fried Louisiana catfish, and grilled chicken come with traditional side dishes such as coleslaw and beans. The chummy staff can help you choose sweet, hot, mild, or vinegar sauce. The best non-barbecue dish is succulent...

Barbecue joint, with in-house smoker, that slathers Somerville with top-notch ribs, pulled meat, sides and an immense breadth of beer.

In Davis Square, the spicy tradition of Cajun Louisiana collides with the Southern home-cooking of Arkansas and the twangy strut of Texas--seasoned with a healthy dose of Delta blues. It's the kind...

Visited a while back for an anniversary meal, as my favourite types of restaurants are ones that serve lots of meat.
Sure enough I wasn't disappointed at Redbones, restaurant is a little cramped, but the taste of the food quickly drowns that out.

Had an excellent business lunch today feasting on the tripe meat combo: BBQ Hash, Sausage and Fried Chicken. The Collard Greens and Broccoli were fresh and tasty. My business partner enjoyed the Cat Fish and Brisket. The service was friendly and efficient (Thank You, Elizabeth)....

First-rate barbecue for north of Memphis

There's an awful lot to like here: First-rate food, reasonable prices, a funky but not sketchy atmosphere.
So, first the potential downsides: Service can be a shade slow; if you're in a hurry, look elsewhere. And the dining room squeezes in a whole bunch of...

It's a bit difficult to find good BBQ over here in the Northern Frozenlands, but I must say this place impressed me. Highly recommended!
