The Kansas African American Museum, formerly the venerable Calvary Baptist Church was once the cornerstone of Wichita's vibrant black community. Dedicated to bridging the gap of understanding between cultures, the Kansas African American Museum is housed in the circa 1917 Calvary Baptist Church building, which is listed on the National Historic Register of Historic Places. Historical artifacts and exhibits tell "the story of the African American experience - past, present and future."
