Huntsville Compounding Pharmacy was opened in 2004 as Huntsville's first, compounding only pharmacy. The pharmacy is independently owned by James Gillespie of Brownsboro, AL. In 2009, Huntsville Compounding Pharmacy became North Alabama's only nationally accredited compounding pharmacy through the Professional Compounding Accreditation Board. The pharmacy specializes in compounding bio-identical or natural hormones, topical/transdermal pain creams, pediatric medications, hospice medications, and veterinary mediations. Since Huntsville Compounding Pharmacy has the only certified compounding clean room, they also specialize in sterile products, such as high risk pregnancy injectables and fortified anti-biotic ophthalmic drops. Huntsville Compounding Pharmacy also has a great interest in nutritional therapies and natural prevention.
