Flight got rerouted to Philly instead of EWR at the last minute. Hertz Rep personally ensured that I had a car available to me when I got to Philly. Very helpful and personable.

Upgraded to a new Impala at no charge when I picked up at Newark Airport. (I'm very tall and Hertz rep wanted to be sure I fit in the car.) Car was very clean - and when I returned it a day early charges were quickly adjusted and I was on my way.

Flight got re-routed from EWR to LGA so I tried to change my pre-paid rental (which was $180 for four days) to pick up at LGA instead of EWR. Hertz told me sweetly that would be no problem; I just need to pay the difference in rates. Only $520 in addition to what I had paid! You couldn't have just made it $100 or so Hertz? Instead you make me take a van to EWR for $31, get home an hour later...

Unfortunately, I rate Hertz rental a 1.
It started off with a rep telling me that I kept the car for 2 extra days. Have in mind I called them on January 23 to let them know my flight was cancelled and I would be extending my rental for 2 more days.
Since I experienced lots of inconveniences with this rental, the rep told me he would give me a discount for my inconveniences. After a quick hold...
