Book in advance for this charmer located in the heart of the historic Gaslamp District. With its rooftop terrace (where they serve you a complimentary breakfast), European decor and elegant public areas, reservations may be hard. It is well worth the wait for the romantic getaway. Come here for a honeymoon or anniversary.

This 1850 saltbox-style house, one of the city's original homes, now serves as the Visitor's Information Center for the historic Gaslamp District. Self-Guided Museum tours are available for a donation of $3 per person. There are also Gaslamp Guided Walking Tours every Saturday at 11a for a regular admission of $8. Detailed maps of the district are available at any time.

The Gaslamp Quarter, originally San Diegoâ??s red-light district, is a 16 1/2-block area of restaurants, hotels, shops, special events and nightlife. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places and locally curated, the downtown Quarter was revamped in the 1980s but maintains the stylish elegance of the Victorian era.

One of the most popular tourist destinations in San Diego, California, is the Gaslamp Quarter, a historic district spanning 16 square blocks. Victorian and Art Deco architectural styles dominate in the district’s shopping, dining and nightlife venues. The whole family can enjoy the artistic sights and activities.

This building is the oldest wooden structure in the San Diego area. It is over 150 years old. They provide daylight tours and spooky ghostly gaslamp tours. The house was once lived in by a German spy.
